We are currently hiring for a JR. RETIREMENT HOME MANAGER for our home located in rural Guelph, ON  (2113 Gordon Street Guelph, ON)

The perfect candidate is:

  • an experienced office manager or Charge Nurse/DOC looking for career advancement and a new challenge
  • loves people!  - someone who can engage staff and support a 'family like' atmosphere while leading a team to deliver exceptional resident care
  • good communication skills - write, speak, understand
  • a genuine interest in the senior population

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED                                   

  •  Knowledge and skills derived from previous experience in a Long-Term Care, Residential or Retirement Home setting.
  • Previous knowledge and skills related to managing people and team building.

  • Knowledge and skills related to legislative requirements including; but not limited to; RHRA, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Code and Standards, Public Health Regulations and Landlord Tenant (Residential Tenancy Act)

  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and applicable legislation. 

  • Human relations skills required to handle a variety of interactions with the resident, families, staff and the public.

  • Sales and Marketing Experience.

  • Able to exercise sound judgement and solid business etiquette setting a professional standard and role model for all staff. 

  • Able to interact with others in a positive and professional manner at all times 

     

Sales & Marketing

      •  Actively advertises the home to consistently monitor and grow occupancy.
      • Develops the homes marketing plan and looks for continued opportunities to grow the business.

      • Build and nurture ongoing relationships in the community including; but not limited to:  discharge planners, placement coordinators, medical clinics, churches and other sources of referral

      • Preparation and distribution of promotional materials and other documents used to generate leads and boost occupancy

      • Develop and implement effective marketing plans used to build occupancy

  • Solicits feedback from all stakeholders and with resident/family/community/staff to ensure a positive reputation and environment is maintained.

 

Leadership, Teamwork & Communication

To lead by example and develop effective teams within the home

    • Provides leadership in the achievement of providing excellent care to residents.  Assumes ultimate responsibility for providing and monitoring the level of care of residents.

    • Selects, develops and motivates Supervisors and staff and monitors performance to assure a high level of productivity and the best use of current capabilities, as well as to provide for the facility’s future management needs.

    • Liaison with residents, families and the community in order to maintain a good public image for the home;

    • Negotiates and/or participates in collective bargaining as required and provides the administration of the collective agreement; and handles employee relations for non-unionized personnel.

Handles all labour disputes/grievances in collaboration with the General Manager.

 

Financial

  • Directs the budgeting process and manages the operations of the facility within the pre-approved budget
  • Oversees the accounting operations for the home

  • Makes recommendations to the Senior Management for additional equipment or other capital expenditures outside of the budget and, on approval, arranges for purchase.

 

Quality Management

  •  Manages the home in accordance with legislative requirements
  • Provides leadership in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for the various departments of the home to ensure a high level of medical, physical and emotional care for residents and in effective operating environment for employees.

  • Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory bodies (RHRA, OHS, Ontario Fire Code, Landlord Tenant Act, Public Health, Employment Standards and other industry requirements.

  • Ensures the maintenance of accurate records of residents, personnel, and the operations in order to provide regular reports on financial, personnel and medical information as required.

We have current openings for GUEST ATTENDANT

Our GUEST ATTENDANTS have a passion for helping Seniors.  They offer personal care support (washing, dressing, bathing, escort) they offer light housekeeping (bed making, towel service), dining room support, companionship and most of all SMILES

Applicants should:

  • be available to work alternating weekends (Sat & Sun)
  • must enjoy working with seniors as a member of the healthcare team
  • ** PSW or HCA Certification is beneficial but willing to train candiates with a positive 'attitude', willingness to learn and committment
  • provide (or willing to obtain) police vulnerable sector screening
  • be able to read, write and understand english
  • additional languages may be beneficial
  • additional shifts may be available on an on-call/as needed basis.

Now hiring PART TIME dining room servers (Dietary Aide).


Available for work 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm - 7 shifts bi-weekly - including ALTERNATING weekends - 28 hrs. biweekly

Qualifications:

  • Valid Police Check with Vulnerable Persons Screening
  • Currently hold valid Food Handlers Certification - or willing to complete as a condition of employment
  • Bubbly personality and proficiency in the English language

FT = 10 shifts biweekly - 55 hours - 7:00am - 1:00 pm

PT = 4 shifts biweekly - 22 hours - 7:00am - 1:00 pm

 

  • must have (or willing to obtain valid Food Handlers Certification
  • must have (or willing to obtain) Vulnerable Screen/Police Clearance
  • must have good working knowledge of english language (written, read, speak)
  • enjoy working with Senior population

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

  • set up and service of breakfast and lunch
  • assist with clean up of dining area

We are currently recruiting for PERMANENT PART TIME NIGHT RPN

  • must hold valid license with CNO
  • must be able to provide clear police clearance with vulnerable sector screening
  • must have own reliable transportation
  • Minimum of 4 shifts bi-weekly - 11pm - 7am - including ALTERNATING WEEKENDS
  • Opportunity to work additional shifts Days, Evenings, Nights to cover vacation relief etc...
