We are currently hiring for a JR. RETIREMENT HOME MANAGER for our home located in rural Guelph, ON (2113 Gordon Street Guelph, ON)
The perfect candidate is:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Previous knowledge and skills related to managing people and team building.
Knowledge and skills related to legislative requirements including; but not limited to; RHRA, Occupational Health and Safety, Fire Code and Standards, Public Health Regulations and Landlord Tenant (Residential Tenancy Act)
Knowledge of basic accounting principles and applicable legislation.
Human relations skills required to handle a variety of interactions with the resident, families, staff and the public.
Sales and Marketing Experience.
Able to exercise sound judgement and solid business etiquette setting a professional standard and role model for all staff.
Able to interact with others in a positive and professional manner at all times
Sales & Marketing
Develops the homes marketing plan and looks for continued opportunities to grow the business.
Build and nurture ongoing relationships in the community including; but not limited to: discharge planners, placement coordinators, medical clinics, churches and other sources of referral
Preparation and distribution of promotional materials and other documents used to generate leads and boost occupancy
Develop and implement effective marketing plans used to build occupancy
Leadership, Teamwork & Communication
To lead by example and develop effective teams within the home
Provides leadership in the achievement of providing excellent care to residents. Assumes ultimate responsibility for providing and monitoring the level of care of residents.
Selects, develops and motivates Supervisors and staff and monitors performance to assure a high level of productivity and the best use of current capabilities, as well as to provide for the facility’s future management needs.
Liaison with residents, families and the community in order to maintain a good public image for the home;
Negotiates and/or participates in collective bargaining as required and provides the administration of the collective agreement; and handles employee relations for non-unionized personnel.
Handles all labour disputes/grievances in collaboration with the General Manager.
Financial
Oversees the accounting operations for the home
Quality Management
Provides leadership in the establishment and implementation of policies and procedures for the various departments of the home to ensure a high level of medical, physical and emotional care for residents and in effective operating environment for employees.
Ensures compliance with applicable regulatory bodies (RHRA, OHS, Ontario Fire Code, Landlord Tenant Act, Public Health, Employment Standards and other industry requirements.
Ensures the maintenance of accurate records of residents, personnel, and the operations in order to provide regular reports on financial, personnel and medical information as required.
